These speakers are really intended to be used as surround speakers. I recently upgraded my 5.1 Onkyo 7.1 receiver with 100 watts per channel. I am using Klipsch speakers L / R and center of Boston on the side and surround sound set-up today. My home theater room is not large, about 13 20 I thought it would be nice to add two rear speakers for my current surround set-up. I am a professional musician fond of cinema. Quality and versatility are so important for my listening. My son (also a musician) have used the Bose 161s for surround set-up and recommended them. I was not disappointed. I tried with some of my DVD THX encoded as rear channel speakers fit without problems.

Able to demonstrate the effectiveness of the speakers, like the main speaker. Some people use them in an apparently successful, but really intended as Bose surround sound speakers and for those on a budget or dealing with limited space, are ideal for this purpose. As surround speakers, I rate it 5 stars.
