In general, I was very happy with the Onkyo SKS-HT540 7.1 Surround Speaker System. I selected out of sheer laziness match the Onkyo receiver that I bought around the same time expected to be more suitable equipment Onkyo. I mainly use the unit in a home theater that doubles as a part-time family to watch TV.

For the clarity of sound, I have never had better speakers. Unlike my old Infinity speakers, I hear every sound and understand what people say, even at low volume. My only complaint is that the bass seems a bit 'weaker than I expected. The subwoofer does not produce a great power that I expected, without adapting it to a high level. I discovered that part of the problem is that the subwoofer on carpet pile, which seems a marked lethal effect. Placing the subwoofer in a tough, but vibration-resistant material helps a lot. The front speakers are not quite the punch in the bass that I expected. Again, part of the problem together. Even though I tried to mount the speakers in the optimal position, the bottom two inches are masked by surrounding equipment (from the viewpoint of the listener). Set the equalizer for bass range seems mainly to increase the problem.

All in all I think the value of this set of speakers was really good for the price, and despite the minor complaints I have, I would repeat the purchase, in the midst of thought.
